Remembering Historian and Innovator Roy Rosenzweig

The staff of the University of Pennsylvania Press is saddened by the news of the death of Roy Rosenzweig, historian, head of the Center for History and New Media, and co-author of Digital History: A Guide to Gathering, Preserving, and Presenting the Past on the Web.

"The history profession has lost an immensely decent, humane, and generous person," said Press history editor Robert Lockhart.

Co-author Daniel J. Cohen shares some of his thoughts on Rosenzweig’s life and work at www.dancohen.org. Others are sending their memories to HNN.net. These posts and similar tributes, along projects such as the Digital History website, the September 11 Digital Archive and the continuing work of the CHNM, serve as reminders of Rosenzweig’s contribution to historical research and education.
