Week 2 of the History Matters Blog Roundtable, Plus Ruth Mazo Karras

03/13/2009 | | Academic Life, Ancient Studies, Art History, Gender and Sexuality Studies, History of Science, Weblogs, Women's Studies

The Women's History Month bloggers' roundtable discussion of  Judith M. Bennett's History Matters: Patriarchy and the Challenge of Feminism continues to pick up steam. Earlier this week, blogger Historiann picked up where Notorious Ph.D. left off with her post, "Who indeed is afraid of the distant past (and who says it’s distant, anyway)? A call to arms."

And if that wasn't interesting enough to women's historians, Historiann invited Ruth Mazo Karras, co-editor of Law and the Illicit in Medieval Europe and author of From Boys to Men: Formations of Masculinity in Late Medieval Europe, to post about her work on the journal Gender & History.

Next week the History Matters roundtable moves to Tenured Radical's blog.
