Yesterday Muna Salloum and Leila Salloum Elias–coauthors, along with their father Habeeb Salloum, of Scheherazade's Feasts: Foods of the Medieval Arab World—discussed historical Mideastern and Iberian cuisine with chef and travel expert Pierre Wolfe on America's Dining and Travel Guide. The sisters explained how the idea of courses was introduced to European diners by a musician from Bagdad. They also shared their recommendations for a medieval Arab Christmas menu.
