Overcoming Cruelty: What Torture Has Taught Me

William F. Schulz, past president of Amnesty International and editor of the forthcoming The Phenomenon of Torture: Readings and Commentary, will speak at the Drexel University campus in Philadelphia today.

In his lecture "Overcoming Cruelty: What Torture Has Taught Me," Schulz will discuss his thirty one years in the Unitarian Universalist ministry and will address the perennial question of cruelty from the perspective of one well acquainted with the shadow side of human nature.
