More Coverage of Sageman v. Hoffman Debate

Over the weekend, both the New York Times and the Washington Post addressed the differing views of Leaderless Jihad author Marc Sageman and Georgetown scholar Bruce Hoffman. Sageman and Hoffman represent contrasting assessments of the state of Al Qaeda and the roots of Islamist terror. In "A Not Very Private Feud Over Terrorism", New York Times reporters presented an outline of both arguments, while analyzing their policy implications . In the Washington Post, Sageman spoke for himself in an opinion piece entitled "The Homegrown Young Radicals Of Next-Gen Jihad." Sageman responds directly to Hoffman’s criticism in a forthcoming essay in Foreign Affairs.
