Jewish Book World Reviews Two Penn Press Collections

Both Culture Front: Representing Jews in Eastern Europe, edited by Benjamin Natahans and Gabriella Safran, and The Revolutions of 1905 and Russia's Jews, edited by Stefani Hoffman and Ezra Mendelsohn, appear in the Winter 5769/2008 issue of Jewish Book World.

Jewish Book World calls Culture Front a "varied and broad collection of essays" that "goes a long way toward filling in our appreciation of the thousand-year cultural heritage of Jews in Europe." The magazine praises The Revolution of 1905 and Russia's Jews as "a welcome addition to the literature on a critical period in Jewish history."
