It is with great sadness that Penn Press shares the news of the recent and sudden passing of Jonathan Hess, author of the recent book Deborah and Her Sisters. Chair of the Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures and Malkin Distinguished Professor of Jewish History and Culture at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, Hess passed away earlier this week.
