The EDP Department is Seeking Freelance Copyeditors

Penn Press welcomes inquiries from copyeditors who have experience with scholarly nonfiction manuscripts, particularly editors from groups that are underrepresented in publishing.

Penn Press copyeditors read for style, accuracy, structure, and clarity, resolving formatting issues, imposing consistency in spelling, punctuation, citation, and use of terminology, and readying manuscripts for authorial and editorial review. Fees and deadlines are set on a project-by-project basis, based on the complexity of the project and level of editing required. Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style is a plus, as is experience with scholarly citation and bibliography formats.

Please submit a cover letter and resume to Noreen O’Connor-Abel at nmoconno@upenn.edu.
